The Blue Springs South Jaguar soccer team needed a big overtime goal from Nick Landon to squeak by Suburban Big Seven Conference foe Park Hill 2-1 Monday.

Bryce Millican assisted Landon on the game-winner. Millcan scored the team’s first goal on a pass from Zian Trober for South, which improved to 8-12-1 overall and 4-7 in the conference.

TRUMAN 2, LIBERTY 1: Marcus Martinez proved to be the hero for the Patriots as he scored the game-winning goal in overtime to help top the Blue Jays for a home victory Monday.

Austin Montoya scored the other goal for the Patriots, who improved to 12-6 overall and 4-4 in the Suburban Big Six.

WILLIAM CHRISMAN 10, WINNETONKA 0: Hunter Ulberg scored four goals and added an assist as the Bears had no problem handling the Griffons in a rout Monday.

Chrisman improved to 5-14 with the non-conference victory.

Sam Wimberley added two goals and an assist, Ethan Freiley had a goal, Cody Lein had one goal and two assists, Barxton Saye had a goal and an assist and Nelson Galeas had a goal.

BLUE VALLEY SOUTHWEST 3, GRAIN VALLEY 2: The Eagles fell to 13-6 after a loss to Blue Valley Southwest, the second-ranked team in Kansas, in the inaugural 810 Varsity Best of the Midwest Showcase at Olathe, Kansas.

Alex Thiessen scored a goal from a direct kick outside the box to tie the game early in the first half. But Southwest countered with two goals to make it 3-1 at halftime.

Thiessen scored another goal in the 60th minute but the Eagles were unable to put in another to force overtime.

“We showed great effort and resilience today,” Grain Valley coach Tyler Nichol said. “This was hands down the best team we have played all season and we were right there with them. Hopefully we can carry this confidence into postseason.”

LEE’S SUMMIT 3, BLUE SPRINGS 1: The Wildcats fell to 1-16 and 0-11 in the Suburban Big Seven Conference with a loss to the Tigers Monday.

Beau Bagwell scored the lone goal for Blue Springs.
