Jeremiah Tilmon was arrested Friday morning for purchase or possession of intoxicants by a minor, according to a MUPD arrest report.
Tilmon was pulled over on Tiger Ave. just south of Hospital Drive at 1:42 a.m. Friday after failing to drive within a single lane. The officer detected the smell of intoxicants in the vehicle and put Tilmon through a sobriety test.
It was determined Tilmon was above the “zero tolerance” threshold for alcohol and he was processed at MUPD before being released on summons.
“The Mizzou Men’s Basketball program and head coach Cuonzo Martin are aware of the incident, and the matter will be handled internally,” a Missouri spokesperson said Monday.
Tilmon, a top basketball prospect and incoming freshman from East St. Louis, Ill., arrived on campus June 3, and the Tigers began their offseason practices on June 5.
The 6-foot-10 forward was one of 28 players to accept an invitation to tryout for USA Basketball’s Under-19 team that will compete at the U19 World Cup in Egypt this summer. He later withdrew from the training camp, which started Sunday in Colorado Springs, Colo.
