Ally Cook gave Lee’s Summit’s No. 1 player a tough test but her William Chrisman girls tennis team fell to the Tigers 9-0 Wednesday.
Cook fell just 8-4 to Lee’s Summit’s Lindsey Allin. Cook and Izzy Jaynes lost just 8-3 in No. 1 doubles to Lillie Bock and Kourtney Glenn. Katie Schaefer lost just 8-4 to Bock in No. 2 singles.
"I knew this would be a good task for our girls today, as we lost to them pretty convincingly last year,” Chrisman coach Jason Grubb said. “I was really proud with the efforts of Ally Cook and Katie Schaefer at No. 1 and No. 2 singles as they played girls they lost to in scoreless defeats last year. I hope our girls use what they learned about the importance of heady, fundamental tennis in preparation for (today’s) rivalry match against Truman.”
Lee’s Summit won the junior varsity match 5-4.
