The Blue Springs girls tennis team’s top two players continue to roll.

Caitlyn Sporing and Bentley Walters went 3-0 to capture the A Division title in the Blue Springs Doubles Tournament Friday at Santa Fe Trail Park in Independence.

The Wildcats, though, only had two more wins and tied Lee’s Summit and Staley for fifth in the team standings with 14 points.

St. Teresa’s Academy claimed the team title with 28 points, followed by Pembroke Hill (26), Lee’s Summit North (21) and Grain Valley (16).

Sporing and Walters downed No. 1-seeded Maggie Fielder and Lauren Adriano of St. Teresa’s 6-2, 6-2 in the championship match.

“They played well,” Wildcats coach Jody McClain said of her top duo. “They didn’t give up many games on the day.”

Allie Brown and Dano Madison went 1-2 in B Division, and Meghan Trent and Danielle Bond went 1-2 in D Division for Blue Springs.
