The two local Blue Springs boys and girls teams fared well at the Forest Park Cross Country Festival last Saturday.
The Blue Springs boys took second overall while the girls finished third, with scores of 91 and 195, respectively. The Blue Springs South girls took second with 177 points.
The Truman girls took 30th and the boys were 27th.
For the Blue Springs boys, Victor Mugeche won the individual race with a time of 15:27.53. Rounding out the top five for the Wildcats were Oaklee Hauschild (third, 15:58.39), Gabe McClain (19th, 16:49.94), Morgan Cauveren (23rd, 16:53.66) and Armani Redes (46th, 17:24.55).
Truman’s top boys finisher was Marcus Thimesch (114th, 18:25.03).
For the South girls, Tori Findley won with a time of 18:39.15. Rounding out the top five four the Jaguars were Danielle Hotalling (fourth, 19:16.19), Lauren Low (33rd, 20:50.11), Emma Bassford (51st, 21:13.42) and Amaya Hernandez (91st, 21:51.29).
For Blue Springs, Tessa Valdivia (eighth, 19:37.62) was the team’s top finisher. The other top finishers were Elaina Hubner (14th, 19:59.79), Alyna Thibault (21:08.76), Annemarie Rehbein (58th, 21:24.18) and Resse Howard (75th, 21:41.78).
Truman’s top finisher was Stacy Briggs (45th, 21:09.43).
