The Truman softball team kept its hopes alive for a Suburban Big Six Conference title with a win Tuesday.
Kara Amos went 3-for-3 with a triple, an RBI, a walk and two runs scored to spark the Patriots to a 6-1 win over St. Joseph Central at Adair Park.
Paige Butler went 2-for-2, Melanie Johnson was 2-for-3 and Chloe Armstrong added a triple and two RBIs as the Patriots improved to 21-4 overall and 7-2 in the conference.
Freshman Myel White threw a complete game for the win, allowing just one run and striking out six.
“Another great performance for the freshman,” Truman coach Dan Harper said.
BLUE SPRINGS SOUTH 7, RAYMORE-PECULIAR 2: Haley Woolf went 2-for-4 with a bases-clearing, three-run double and a solo home run to power Blue Springs South to a Suburban Big Seven road win at Ray-Pec Tuesday.
“It looked like we were clicking tonight offensively,” Jaguars coach Kristi Williams said. “We got our hits together and had a couple big innings.”
Woolf’s three-run double in the top of the fourth inning extended South’s lead to 4-0 before Ray-Pec responded with two runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Woolf slugged her home run to key a three-run seventh inning. Aubrie Munoz went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Easton Seib earned the win, allowing eight hits and striking out five.
GRAIN VALLEY 17, HARRISONVILLE 7: Grain Valley’s offense erupted Tuesday to lead the Eagles to a rout of visiting Harrisonville.
Bri Carter went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Autumn Bicknell went 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Eagles.
Kylie Boehmer, Morgan Robinson, and Cara McClain each went 2-for-3 and Brittany Cox was 2-for-4 as the Eagles improved to 14-14 overall and 2-5 in the MRVC West.
BLUE SPRINGS 12, LEE’S SUMMIT 7: Host Blue Springs pounded out 14 hits to outlast Lee’s Summit for a Suburban Big Seven win Monday.
Bella Andrews doubled twice with two RBIs, Payton Minnis was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Hallie Walls doubled with two RBIs to lead the Wildcats.
Bre Barchak allowed nine hits, four walks and seven runs in a complete-game victory.
FORT OSAGE 20, RUSKIN 0: Fort Osage honored seniors Taylor Wisely and Emily Jamison by routing Ruskin in three innings for a Suburban Middle Six home win Monday.
Jamison went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, Rachel Buntin was 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs and Wisely went 1-for-3 with a walk, three RBIs and two runs to lead the Indians.
Sammie Williamson singled and doubled with an RBI, Chloe Harris, Olivia Peters and winning pitcher Maeli Collins each had a hit and two RBIs.
Collins allowed two hits and struck out six in three innings for the win.
