The Blue Springs South boys swimming and diving team finished second to Rockhurst as it warmed up for its next big meet with a four-team meet Tuesday.
The host Jaguars won three events but Rockhurst won the other nine to total 527 points to South’s 395, followed by Sedalia Smith-Cotton (215) and Blue Springs (27, divers only).
Chase Graham won the 100-yard freestyle in 51.03 seconds and took second in the 50 freestyle (23.77), and Adam Ryan prevailed in the 200 freestyle (1:56.69) and took second in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.42) to lead the Jaguars.
“I thought Chase Graham really sprinted well today, especially considering he is typically a middle distance and distance swimmer,” Jaguars coach Errich Oberlander said.
South’s Alex Burt (286.05) and Micah Currie (240.40) continued their dominance in diving, finishing 1-2, while Blue Springs’ Josiah Thomson was fourth (200.10).
