After getting off to a slow start, the Grain Valley boys soccer team is starting to get on a roll.

The host Eagles won their fourth straight in a 5-0 win against the Missouri River Valley Conference West rival Pleasant Hill Roosters Thursday.

Jake Simpson led the way with two goals, while Jack Knust, Nate Chaiprathum and Drake Bray each had one for the Eagles (8-6 4-1 MRVC West). Brandon Speigle added two assists.

Nate Booker notched the shutout in goal.

“Good win for us after losing to them last week.” Grain Valley coach Tyler Nichol said. “We are starting to work some guys into some playing time as they continue to come back from injuries. We are gaining momentum and knocking the ball around well.”
