Blue Springs volleyball coach Katie Grusing finally got the offense she had been looking for.

As a result, the Wildcats were able to snap an eight-match winless streak with a 25-21, 25-17 Suburban Big Seven home win over Lee’s Summit West Thursday.

With help from Caroline Foster’s 24 assists, Hannah Vanriette knocked down 10 kills to power the offense.

“We finally got the offensive production we've been lacking and it paid off,” Wildcats coach Katie Grusing said after her team improved to 7-13-1 and 3-7 in the conference. “Hannah did a great job keeping the defense on their toes.

“Alex Gabbert, Hannah and Aliyah Bello had the backcourt covered, combining for 20 of our 30 team digs (led by Gabbert’s nine). This group has worked hard win or lose and tonight was a positive effort on all fronts.”

FORT OSAGE 25-25, RUSKIN 14-7: Fort Osage used a balanced offensive attack to claim a Suburban Middle Six home win Thursday.

Aly Young, Amber Lee and Kendra Siefker each tallied seven kills as the Indians improved to 10-13-2 overall and 3-5 in the conference.
