The Blue Springs girls tennis squad saw its team season come to a close Saturday.

Park Hill South swept doubles on the way to a 5-2 win over the Wildcats in a Class 2 sectional team match at Bennett Park in Liberty.

Bentley Walters won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Allie Brown prevailed 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles for Blue Springs’ only wins. Caitlyn Sporing was tied 2-2 in her No. 1 singles match when the Panthers received the necessary five wins to end the match.

Lee Summit West, which topped Liberty 5-0 in first round, then beat Park Hill South 5-2 to advance to the state team final four.

Sporing’s season will continue, though, after she qualified for state in individual singles play this weekend at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
