Asya Harris had herself a match.
She netted 10 kills in Grain Valley’s 25-15, 25-11 non-conference volleyball win over Belton Monday.
Bailey Bunney led Grain Valley (19-7-2) with 13 assists and Karly Tharp had a game-high seven kills.
“This good match for us after a busy weekend,” Grain Valley head coach Keri Peterson said. “We have to stay focused with two conference games coming up.”
Grain Valley hosted its Spikefest Tournament and rattled off four straight wins before losing to St. Pius X 21-25, 25-7, 16-25 in the semifinals.
The Eagles defeated Concordia (25-19. 25-14), Raytown South (25-13, 25-13) and Columbia Rock Bridge (31-29, 25-21) in pool play. In the quarterfinals, the Eagles beat Fatima-Westphalia 25-23, 25-14.
Platte County won the tournament.
Karly Tharp led Grain Valley with 36 kills on the day, followed by Asya Harris with 34 kills.
Carly Harris had 45 digs followed by Olivia Coons with 34 digs. Gracie LaForge had seven blocks and Bailey Bunney had 81 assists.
OAK GROVE 25-22-25, ODESSA 10-25-19: Oak Grove downed rival Odessa in three sets Thursday.
Chloee Tripp led the way for the Panthers with 16 kills on .351 hitting and 20 digs. Emily Heldenbrand tallied 67 assists, 12 digs and four kills and Alyssa Visos had nine kills, five digs and two blocks.
