RAYTOWN 76, BLUE SPRINGS SOUTH 58: Blue Springs South couldn’t overcome a large disadvantage on the boards and squandered a first-half lead in the Cardinal Division third-place game in the William Jewell Holiday Classic Saturday in Liberty.

The Jaguars jumped to a 35-33 lead at halftime but Raytown outscored them 20-10 in the third quarter and 23-13 in the final period to take command.

“We were 13 of 15 from the free throw line in the first half, which helped us lead by two,” Jaguars coach Jimmy Cain said. “But it also masked the biggest issue of the game, which was rebounding. Raytown out rebounded us 37-13 for the game, which was the difference.”

Jared Ravencamp scored 17 points, Jaylon McDaniel added 14 and Chris Walker had 10 to lead Blue Springs South, which fell to 4-4 overall.
