The William Chrisman girls basketball team had little trouble advancing to the semifinals of the Raymore-Peculiar Sonic Classic Wednesday.
Jacque David poured in 20 points, including 14 in the first half, to lead the Bears to an 81-19 rout of the Kansas City East Bears in the first round of the tournament.
Chrisman (5-2) cruised to a 25-4 lead after one quarter and extended it to 46-8 by halftime.
Jolee Spinks and Krysta McAllister each added 13 points and Abigayle Emmons contributed 10 points to help lead the Bears as every player who played scored.
Chrisman advances to today’s 5:30 p.m. semifinal against Liberty North.
Blue Springs couldn’t muster much offense in a 40-27 loss to Liberty North in another first-round matchup in the Ray-Pec Sonic Classic.
The Wildcats (0-6) fall into the consolation bracket, where they will face Kansas City East at 5:30 p.m. today.
