A victory and a state berth highlighted the Truman girls swimming and diving team’s performance in a seven-team meet Wednesday.

The Patriots totaled 123 points to finish fifth behind Platte County (364), Warrensburg (350), Raytown (181) and Raytown South (143) Wednesday at the Raytown Community Pool. Van Horn finished sixth at 54 and William Chrisman was seventh at 30.

Truman’s Jennifer Sailor finished behind Raytown’s Sydney Jackson in 1-meter diving but she earned an automatic state qualifying score of 250.50 points.

Rian Caswell led the Patriots in the pool, capturing first place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2 minutes, 46.93 seconds. She also captured second place in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:19.89.

Truman’s Mikayla Zans claimed second place in the 100 backstroke (1:27.05) and seventh in the 100 freestyle (1:09.03). Devon Simms was fifth in the 200 freestyle and seventh in the 500 freestyle for the Patriots.

Megan Bruch claimed a victory for William Chrisman, prevailing in the 200 freestyle in 2:24.97. She also finished fourth in the 100 freestyle (1:07.06).

Lily Polton finished third in the 100 backstroke (1:29.89) and Bryanna Counts was seventh in the 50 freestyle (34.04) to lead Van Horn.
