Blue Springs South had a tune up before the district tournament starts in nine days.
In a dual match with Suburban Big Seven rival Lee’s Summit West, the Jaguars only won two contested matches during a 42-30 loss Tuesday.
Noah Leonard (220) won by fall in 2:32, and Nathan Walker (285) pinned his opponent in 4:20.
Will Bullard (138), Brady Childers (182) and Peyton Valentine (195) won by forfeit while West won seven contested matches.
“Very disappointed in how our kids came out tonight,” South coach Doug Black said. “Coming into the match I believed that there were five swing matches and we lost all five of them, and we had control in all of them and just could not put them away. I give Lee’s Summit West credit for that, but on the same hand, our kids have got to step up to the challenge and they did not do that. We need to do some serious soul-searching in the next nine days before districts.”
