It didn’t take long for the Van Horn wrestling team to conclude its regular season on Monday.

The Falcons won three of the five matches contested on the mat to claim a 48-24 Crossroads Conference victory over host Sherwood in Creighton, Mo.

Preston Murphy (138 pounds), Chad Batchelder (170) and Aaron Maluia (285) each recorded pins to lead the Falcons to the win.

Van Horn also capitalized on five forfeit wins to finish the regular season with an 18-7 record in duals. Van Horn now competes in the Class 3 District 4 Tournament starting Friday at Winnetonka High School.

PARK HILL SOUTH 55, TRUMAN 21: Truman dominated the upper weights but it wasn’t enough to lift the Patriots in a Senior Night home loss to Park Hill South in its regular season finale Tuesday.

Jim Molt (220) and Jeffrey Molt (195) each recorded pins, while Chase Schroeder (182) claimed a 6-5 decision. Jeffrey Molt took just 43 seconds to pin his opponent.

Truman’s only other win came on a forfeit for Dylan McCutcheon (113).

Truman competes in the Class 4 District 4 Tournament starting Friday at Staley High School.
