The Lee’s Summit North boys basketball team couldn’t make it a sweep of crosstown rival and No. 1-state ranked Lee’s Summit West.
The visiting Titans found their range in the second quarter, outscoring the Broncos 27-14 on the way to a 73-60 victory Friday that avenged an 80-74 upset loss to the Broncos on Jan. 26.
North trailed just 15-13 before the Titans (19-4, 9-2 Big Seven) raced to a 42-27 halftime lead.
The Broncos cut the deficit to 60-54 with about six minutes left but could get no closer as West pulled away.
Elijah Farr scored 20 points to pace the Broncos, who dropped to 13-10 overall and finished 6-6 in Big Seven play. Javaunte Hawkins added 16 points, Logan Jenkins had 11 and Mikel Henderson chipped in with 10 for North in its regular-season finale.
The Broncos meet their other crosstown rival, Lee’s Summit, in a Class 5 District 13 semifinal at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Raymore-Peculiar High School.
