The Van Horn boys track and field team fared well at the Butler Relays as it took second with 82 points, while the girls were sixth out of 16 teams Thursday at Butler High School.

Shaun Ross broke a school record when he took first in the triple jump with a distance of 40 feet, seven 7 inches. He was also second in the 100-meter dash (11.30 seconds). Evan Neal took third in the 100 (11.58); Isiah Fue-King was tied for second with two other competitors in the high jump (5 feet, 8 inches); the 4x100 relay team of Neal, Fue-King, Ross and Marquan Whetstone won with a school-record time of 44.55; the 4x400 relay team of Fue-King, Neal, Ross and Drevion Downton was second (3:44.41).

On the girls side, the team scored 48 points.

The Van Horn Falcons competed at the Butler Relays, Thursday March 22 with the following results:

Women's team finished 6th out of 16 teams scoring 48 points. Jasmine Williams was third in the triple jump (30-8) and third in the long jump (14-01). Dasiah Tatum was second in the shot put (34-04) and second in the discus (111-02) and the 4x100 relay team of Williams, Jazzmin Miller, Cierra Mitchell and N’Ya Fritz took second with a school record time of 53.91.
