Colton Barnes shot a personal-best round Tuesday to lead the Grain Valley boys golf team to a win.

Barnes fired a 3-over-par 39 at Country Creek Golf Club as the Eagles topped host Harrisonville 172-188 in a Missouri River Valley Conference West dual.

Jake Halteman and Jace Collum each shot 44, Tye Bartlett recorded a 45 and Levi Barnett shot 55 to complete Grain Valley’s card.

TRUMAN 212, CENTER 244: Truman used a more balanced lineup to down Center in a dual match Tuesday at par-36 Drumm Farm Golf Club.

Damon Freers fired a 49 for runner-up honors and Jacob Freers shot 51 to lead the Patriots.

“It was good to see marked improvement from most of our golfers today when the weather, comparatively speaking, was beautiful. It feels good to get a win,” Truman coach Joey Penner said.

Ethan Bradshaw shot 54, followed by Logan Freers (58) and Karl Manoza (59) to complete Truman’s card.

Center’s Spencer Jundt shot 45 to earn medalist honors.
