Zane Barr tossed a one-hitter and hit a home run as Fort Osage erupted for nine runs in the final three innings to claim a 10-1 Suburban Middle Six road win Tuesday over North Kansas City.
“Barr threw a great game, and we swung the bats well,” Fort Osage coach Chris Walker said.
Fort Osage scored four runs in the fifth to break a 1-1 tie and added four runs in the sixth and one in the seventh to pull away.
Barr allowed just one hit and four walks while striking out 11 in a complete-game victory. He also went 2-for-4 with a solo homer.
Jacob Merithew went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs, and Tyler Lockard and Jared Larson each added two hits and an RBI for the Indians, who improved to 12-12 overall and 5-2 in the Middle Six.
