Blue Springs Post 499 Fike split a pair of games in the Washington Post 218 American Legion baseball tournament Saturday.

Jackson Arnold and Grant Lorenzen combined to allow eight hits and just one unearned run in a 3-1 win over Columbia in the first game Saturday.

In the nightcap, Fike couldn’t hold on to a 3-0 lead and fell 4-3 when Overland (Mo.) Thoman Boothe Post 38 rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Arnold allowed four hits, three walks and no runs in four innings for the victory in the win over Columbia.

Ross Greco went 2-for-3 and scored a run, Aaron Jones went 1-for-3 with a run and Quinton Weld had an RBI sacrifice fly to lead Post 499.

In the loss to Thoman Boothe, Fike scored one run in the third inning and two in the fifth to take a 3-0 lead. Thoman Boothe scored once in the sixth and then rallied against Tyler Slinkerd and losing pitcher Thadd Allen in the seventh.

Greco was 2-for-4 with a run, Luke Moehle had an RBI double and Will Fisher had an RBI single to help put Fike in front early.

SIOUX FALLS TOURNAMENT: The Lee’s Summit Outlaws claimed a win Saturday but fell in their finale in the Sioux Falls (S.D.) Tournament on Sunday.

Blake Marnholtz hit a three-run homer to key a four-run fourth inning as the Outlaws downed Harrisburg (S.D.) 5-2 Saturday.

Ethan Lewis earned the win, striking out three in four innings.

A furious rally fell just short for the Outlaws in a 10-8 loss to Yankton (S.D.) in their finale Sunday.

Yankton jumped to an 8-2 lead after five innings before the Outlaws scored twice in the sixth to make it 8-4. Yankton added two runs in the top of the seventh, then the Outlaws scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh before the rally was snuffed out.

Jason Gonzalez had three hits and Logan Adams drove in two runs to lead the Outlaws. Carter Bradford suffered the loss.
