The Lee’s Summit Outlaws wasted a strong game from Jeremy Root.

The Sedalia Post 642 Outlaws scored three runs in the top of the seventh to break a 1-1 deadlock and claim a 4-1 win to sweep a Zone 2 doubleheader Thursday at Liberty Park Stadium in Sedalia. The Travelers won the first game 9-4.

Root went the distance for the Outlaws in the nightcap, allowing just three hits but taking the loss. He also had two hits at the plate, but the Outlaws committed five errors in the loss.

The Outlaws couldn’t hold on after taking a 4-0 first-inning lead in the first game. Sedalia scored six runs in the second inning to take control and added three in the sixth.

Jason Gonzales drove in two runs for the Outlaws. Will Murray went five innings to suffer the loss.
