The Lee’s Summit Outlaws failed to advance to the quarterfinals of the American Legion Wood Bat Invitational.

The Outlaws fell 4-1 to Washington Post 218 Friday at Blue Springs South High School to finish 2-2 in Pool C play. The loss eliminated Lee’s Summit from quarterfinal contention.

The Outlaws will meet Quincy (Ill.) Post 37 in a consolation crossover game at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Hidden Valley Park’s Field 3.

Washington scored one run in the second inning and two in the fifth to take a 3-0 lead. The Outlaws scored their lone run in the sixth on a Justin Hopson RBI, but Washington added a run in the seventh to finish undefeated in the pool and advance to Saturday’s quarterfinals against the Omaha (Neb.) Concordia Mustangs at 5:30 p.m.

Carter Bradford went 4 2/3 innings and struck out five to suffer the loss for the Outlaws. Blake Marnholtz pitched the final 2 1/3 innings.
