Local girls golf teams battled windy conditions in the season-opening tournament Monday.

Blue Springs shot 425 to finish 13th, while Blue Springs South (443) was 14th and Lee’s Summit North (448) took 15th in the Mo-Kan Invitational at par-72 Blue Hills Country Club in Kansas City.’

Lauren Muller fired an 88 and Sierra Heuston shot 93 to lead Blue Springs. Sophie Mermelstein (120), Grace Gibler (124) and Caroline Duvall (127) completed Blue Springs’ scorecard.

Ayden Sackewitz and Sophia Nagel each shot 101 to pace Blue Springs South. Maddie Brennaman (117) and Ashley Humm (124) completed the Jaguars’ scoring.

Julia Scism shot 96 and Natalie Bruce posted a 110 to lead Lee’s Summit North. Mimi Brown (114) and Zoe Franzen (128) completed the Broncos’ scoring.

St. Joseph’s Academy of St. Louis shot 325 to edge host Notre Dame de Sion by one stroke for the team title. Sion’s Megan Propeck fired a 1-under-par 71 to earn medalist honors by eight strokes.
