The William Chrisman girls tennis team played comfortably in its first home match of the season, said head coach Jason Grubb.

The Bears swept all nine matches in a 9-0 win against the Bulldogs Wednesday at Santa Fe Trail Park.

In singles play, No. 1 player Tori Gant won 8-3, No. 2 Ally Cook won 8-2, No. 3 Nicole Eppert won 8-1, No. 4 Katie Schafer won 8-2, No. 5 Izzy Jaynes won 8-1 and No. 6 Emma Place won 8-2.

In doubles, Gant and Eppert won 8-2, Cook and Schaefer won 8-3 and Jaynes and Kiara Ashurst won 8-0.

“I think we had one of the better crowds I've seen as a coach today with over 40-plus Chrisman supporters,” Grubb said. “Tori and Emma looked very comfortable in their first career varsity wins at No. 1 and No. 6, respectively. Nicole Eppert got back to hitting the ball with more pace after a rough match yesterday. Finally, seniors Ally Cook, Katie Schaefer and Izzy Jaynes looked very much in control during both singles and doubles."

Chrisman’s junior varsity won 9-0.
