The Truman boys swimming and diving team made a little go a long way in its season-opening meet Wednesday.
The Patriots, with just four swimmers, finished fifth an eight-team meet at High-Blue Community Center and were just four points from taking fourth.
Truman totaled 108 points to finish behind host Belton (347), Raytown (247), St. Pius X (167) and Raytown South (112). William Chrisman was eighth with nine points.
Senior Carson Moon dropped time in his 100-yard and 50-yard freestyles, taking second in the 100 (1:00.29) and fourth in the 50 (27.26) to lead the Patriots.
Sophomore Tyler Jeffries claimed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:19.82) and seventh in the 50 free (28.89).
Moon, Jeffries, Dayne Rowlette and Aiden Shearer claimed third place in the 200 free relay and fourth in the 200 medley relay.
William Chrisman’s lone swimmer, Luke Rennison, finished sixth in the 100 free (1:07.88).
