The Truman boys swimming and diving team got to celebrate a rare two victories Wednesday.

The Patriots won five events to top Smithville 90-77 and William Chrisman 105-12. Chrisman fell 80-12 to Smithville.

Shuri Holland won the 100-yard butterfly (1 minute, 1.33 seconds) and the 500 freestyle (6:17.36) and teamed with Tyler Jeffries, Carson Moon and Aiden Shearer for a win in the 200 freestyle relay (1:54.87).

Jeffries won the 200 individual medley (2:41.21) and Carson Moon won in diving (118.50) for Truman’s other victories.

Luke Rennison was third in the 50 freestyle (31.03) and third in the 100 breaststroke (1:49.23) for Chrisman.

LEE’S SUMMIT WEST 189, BLUE SPRINGS SOUTH 118: Despite the loss to Suburban Big Six foe Lee’s Summit West, Blue Springs South coach Errich Oberlander was pleased with his team’s performance Tuesday.

Chase Graham earned an automatic state qualifying time in the 500 freestyle, winning in 4:56.34. The senior also won the 200 IM in 2:07.85.

Aaron Wedel also had a pair of wins in the 50 freestyle (24.32) and 100 freestyle (54.30). Wedel and Graham teamed with Thomas Branson and Matthew Clark to win the 400 free relay (3:30.58).

“I felt like this was one of our better performances of the year, especially considering the great practice we had before school (in the) morning,” Oberlander said.

Micah Currie prevailed in diving (287.45) for South’s other win.

Clark took second in the 200 free (2:01.66) and third in the 500 free (5:21.85), and Branson was second in the 100 butterfly (1:03.00) and third in the 50 free (24.77). Josh Hafner finished second in the 100 free (55.53) and George Bahr took second in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.29).
