In a preview of a first round matchup of the Class 2 District 14 tournament, the William Chrisman girls tennis team showed it is ready for the playoffs to begin as it earned a 8-1 win over Suburban Middle Seven rival Fort Osage Thursday.

In singles play, No. 1 player Tori Gant won 8-3, No. 2 Ally Cook won 8-3, No. 3 Nicole Eppert won 8-2, No. 5 Izzy Jaynes won 8-2 and No. 6 Kiara Ashurst won 8-5.

In doubles play, the No. 1 team of Gant and Eppert won 8-5, the No. 2 duo of Cook and Katie Schaefer won 8-0 and the No. 3 tandem of Jaynes and Ashurst won 8-5.

Chrisman will play Fort Osage at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the first round of the team district tournament.

Chrisman’s junior varsity won 7-2.
