The Lee’s Summit North boys soccer team ended a two-game losing streak with solid defense and goals from Parker Allen and Tyler Dailey in a 2-0 win over Suburban Big Six Conference foe Raymore-Peculiar.

About 4 minutes into the game, Tyler Dailey measured a perfect pass to Parker Allen running behind the back line. Allen took a couple touches and calmly played the ball into the goal for a 1-0 lead.

With just more than 3 minutes left in the first half, AJ James played a short corner to Dailey who turned and fired a shot last the Panther goalkeeper before the defense was organized.

The Broncos continued their solid play in the second half.

“With the wind at our back in the second half we played a smart defensively and did not give Ray-Pec many chances,” said North coach Ryan Kelley, whose team improved to 8-4 overall and 4-1 in conference play. “Our attack was a little off due to the wind, but when we needed to possess the ball and move it around the pitch we found the passes to keep the ball and for the win.”

Broncos goalkeeper John Foster earned the shutout.
