Wyatt Huffman posted a pair of victories to help the Grain Valley boys swimming and diving team prevail in a four-team meet Wednesday.

The Eagles totaled 440 points to easily outdistance St. Pius X (236), Truman (233) and William Chrisman (30) at Henley Aquatic Center.

Huffman claimed first place in the 100-yard butterfly in 56.68 seconds and won the 100 breaststroke in 1 minute, 8.67 seconds to lead Grain Valley to the win.

Austin Jacoby won the 200 individual medley in 2:39.80 and Mark Shackles took first in the 100 freestyle (59.30) for the Eagles. Grain Valley’s Eli Hendricks (246.14) and Lane Jackson (160.15) finished 1-2 in diving.

Huffman, Jacoby, Shackles and Jordon Jarman teamed for 200 freestyle (1:45.97) and 400 freestyle (4:09.41) relay wins.

Tyler Jeffries won the 200 freestyle (2:17.25) and took second in the breaststroke (1:14.78) to lead Truman. The Patriots also won the 200 medley relay (2:03.46).

Chrisman’s Luke Rennison took third in the 200 free (2:34.50).

JAGUARS TRIUMPH: Chase Graham claimed a pair of wins in back-to-back events to lead Blue Springs South to a win in a five-team meet Tuesday at the Blue Springs Family YMCA.

The Jaguars tallied 652 points to top Sedalia Smith-Cotton (480), Warrensburg (403), Marshall (133) and Blue Springs (31, divers only).

Graham won the 200 IM in 2:10.62 and then took the 50 freestyle (23.75).

Thomas Branson won the 100 freestyle (54.51) and took second in the 200 free (2:03.05), and Alex Burt (338.00) and Micah Currie (296.15) finished 1-2 in diving to help spark the Jaguars.

South’s 200 freestyle (1:39.84) and 400 freestyle (3:44.04) relay teams also triumphed. Matthew Clark took second in the 50 free (25.49).

Ethen Gutierrez (211.30) and Alex Harkness (206.65) were third and fourth in diving, respectively, for Blue Springs.
