1. You have the people in Kansas City – especially here in Blue Springs – buzzing about your performance Sunday. How does it feel knowing the people in your hometown still follow your career? It feels good. It feels good to know people haven’t forgotten about me even though I haven’t really lived there in years. It’s always good to know that people back home still treat you as family, so to speak, and are following your career.
2. You back up a great back in Clinton Portis. How do you stay motivated in that role? Playing in the NFL was always a dream of mine, so I don’t approach any day as though I’m being slighted or like I don’t have an important role on this team. I take my job serious and I relish my role every day.
3. When Portis went down, did your approach or mindset to the game change? Yes, from the standpoint that you get to be the man on first, second and third down because before that, it was pretty much on third down. Now I know that I get to play a full game so it’s a little bit different mindset.
4. Your Blue Springs Wildcats play at home against St. Louis DeSmet Friday for a berth in the Class 6 championship game. What’s your prediction? Blue Springs. Why would I pick anything different? We’ve got the state championships to prove it.
5. What was the best thing about your performance Sunday? Getting the win, especially getting the go-ahead touchdown. That was big too. But mainly just the win itself since those have been hard to come by this year.
