The life of Jerry Alexander – the former assistant basketball and football coach at Blue Springs South and Center high schools who passed away last month due to congenital heart failure – will be celebrated from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Lake Tapawingo Clubhouse.
“It’s a memorial remembrance, a way to celebrate Jerry’s life,” said Buddy Young, former South activities director and head football coach. “We want to spend two hours laughing and telling stories and letting everyone who knew Jerry have a couple of hours to talk about a great man we all miss very much.
“There aren’t going to be any speakers, and it’s not going to be formal at all. We’re just inviting anyone who knew Jerry or his family to come by the clubhouse at Lake Tapawingo for a night of story-telling.”
