The Grain Valley girls soccer team isn’t slowing down.
Erika Santulli’s goal on Reighan Childers’ assist in the fifth minute of the second 10-minute overtime gave the Eagles (15-7, 7-0 conference) a 2-1 Missouri River Valley Conference victory over Pleasant Hill Friday.
Childers also assisted on Grain Valley’s first goal by Morgan Clark in the fifth minute. Pleasant Hill tied the score in the 70th minute.
“This was our third game this week and going into double overtime just added to the fatigue of the week,” Grain Valley coach Aleana Balistreri said.
“We had so many shots that we just could not connect with the back of the net. But Santulli scored the golden goal, catching the Pleasant Hill keeper off guard.”
