The Fort Osage girls basketball team will have to settle for seventh place in the Liberty North Tournament.
A 25-17 halftime deficit was too much to overcome as the Indians fell to Kearney 47-31 Wednesday night in a consolation-bracket game.
“We have to shoot the ball better,” Fort Osage coach Dawn Williams said. “We shot only 16 percent for the whole game. We took good shots. We have to find a way to score.”
Raven Bunn had 12 points and Sierra Glassford 11, Asia Cole grabbed nine rebounds, including eight defensively, in pacing the Indians.
Six-foot, 4-inch sophomore Taylor Doan led Kearney with 14 points.
Fort Osage (0-3) plays either Platte County or Liberty North at 4 p.m. Friday for seventh place.
