Here’s a look at the area high school sports teams competing this fall, continuing today with a look at the William Chrisman Bears.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Head coach: Keith Peterson

Others to watch: Nathan Maxon; Enoch Bukovac; Keith Barrows; Justin DeWitt; Jake Becker; Anthony Wheeler; Tanner Haynes.
Coach’s comments: “Tristan is our proven leader and has taken a strong role in bringing along our younger runners. Nathan, Uly, Enoch, Time and Keith along with Tristan give us one of our strongest varsities we have had in several years.”

Coach’s comments: “I’m excited to have enough girls to race as a team this year. Elizabeth Straub and Brittany Gueltzau are my top two runners going into the season and I expect them, as well as other runners, to improve throughout the season and hopefully place well as a team in some of our meets.”

Coach’s comments: “We are very young, having three freshmen, three sophomores and one junior. All the girls are working hard and picking up the game rather quickly. I think it should be a good first year for the program coming back.”

Coach’s comments: “We have been working to be more fundamentally sound and eliminating the physical and mental errors. We have some strong hitters returning. Kana Mason and Marina Thomas have both proven to pull through in clutch situations. Our pitching bench is much deeper than it was last year. Aubrey Dial is returning on the mound for us, as well as Taylor Iskur and Emilie Garner."

We have been working hard and we are anxious to see our hard work pay off in competition. As a program, we have really raised our level of expectation and the girls are rising to the occasion.”
