William Chrisman’s McKay Paialii fell to Kearney’s Paul Nurse 6-0, 6-0 Tuesday at North Kansas City in a Class 2 boys singles sectional match.

Paialii advanced to sectionals after taking first at districts. Nurse advances to the state tournament.

Chrisman coach Nathan Mooney said Paialii had a “great season.”

He said Paialii had to battle back from a sickness this season, and for him to come back and win a district title was quite an accomplishment.

“He should be proud of himself,” Mooney said.
