The Central Hockey League announced today that Missouri Maverick goalie Charlie Effinger has been named the Sher-Wood Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Month for October.

Effinger will receive a Sher-Wood/CHL watch to recognize his accomplishment.

Effinger was also named the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week on Monday after leading the Mavs to four wins in his four starts. He currently posts a 1.5 goals against average, which ranks fourth in the CHL, and owns a .961 save percentage.

Effinger has allowed just six goals and has not allowed more than two goals in any game. His hot start has helped the Mavs to a 5-0 start and an early lead in the Turner Conference.
