Tulsa will visit Independence Events Center five times, but after Friday, the Oilers will not return until Feb. 5. The Oilers are currently in second place in the Northern Conference with a record of 7-3-0 for 14 points. Oilers forward T.J. Caig won the Oakley Player of the Week after having nine points (6 goals, 3 assists) in three games last week. The Mavericks hope to stay unbeaten at home after sweeping the Wichita Thunder last week in their first two games at the Events Center. … Tulsa has won three straight games for the first time since March 15-18 of 2008 and is undefeated at home with a 5-0-0 record. Tulsa is averaging a goal more a game than the opposition and Caig has been a big catalyst with eight goals in his last five games and multiple-goal games in three straight contests.

The jerseys will be auctioned off directly following tonight’s game and any fan is encouraged to bid on their favorite player’s jersey. Proceeds will benefit the Truman Heritage Foundation. … Prior to tonight’s game, the Budweiser Clydesdales will be at Independence Events Center from 5-7 p.m. for photo opportunities with fans. Truman Library will also give thunderstix to the first 2,000 fans in the doors tonight.
