Free Mavericks hockey tickets could just be a click away.
The City of Independence announced Friday that it would open registration to win free Mavericks tickets. The city will give away a limited number of tickets to regular season home games.
This starts with the Oct. 15 home opener against the Odessa Jackalopes.
“Since the facility belongs to the community, we thought this would be a positive way to share the exciting experience of Mavericks hockey with Independence residents who might not otherwise be able to attend a game,” Mayor Don Reimal said.
To register, Independence residents can go to the city’s website at http://www.independencemo.org and click on “win tickets”.
Employees and elected officials of the City of Independence and their immediate families are not eligible to participate in this ticket giveaway promotion.
Entrants must be 18 years of age or older.
Any number of games from the listed Mavericks schedule can be selected and entrants will be included in the drawing for each of those games. Entrants can enter to win tickets until such time as their name is drawn as a winner.
The winners will be selected randomly by a computer 10 days prior to each game and be notified by telephone or email.
A valid photo ID and proof of residency, such as a utility bill, is required when picking up tickets.
