Lee’s Summit West and Lee’s Summit North will tangle for the Class 4 District 13 volleyball title tonight.
The Broncos held off Notre Dame de Sion 25-10, 25-22 Tuesday to advance to the finals at 6:30 p.m. today at Lee’s Summit North.
Lee’s Summit West, sparked by 21 assists and six kills by Kylie Rice, held off an upset bid by Raymore-Peculiar, winning 25-19, 25-23.
“The kids played great,” West coach Mark Rice said. “It was good to see them come out and play hard and play together. They’ve overcome some adversity in the last couple weeks, so this was a big match to win.”
Haley Gregory had seven kills and two blocks, Megan McGehee added seven kills and a block and “Amber Geha, Celeste Roberts and Alex Katzfey all had great nights in the back row,” Rice said.
