AUG. 7: Family Creek Cruisin’ – 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for families with children ages 5 and older at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area in Blue Springs. Water is critical to sustain life. AUG. 10: Intermediate Fish and Canoe – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages 10 and older at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area in Blue Springs. Those who have already learned how to canoe and fish at the Burr Oak Woods Outdoor Skills Camp can now put those skills to use. Meet at Prairie Hollow Lake at James A. Reed Memorial Wildlife Area to polish skills at canoeing and then have the chance to try a few new fishing techniques. Program will conclude with lesson on what to do if a canoe should capsize.
