Missouri Mavericks forward Brandon Coccimiglio continues earning recognition for his scorching January.
After being named the CHL’s Player of the Month on Thursday, Coccimiglio was named one of the league’s “Oakley Three Stars” for January on Friday.
Quad City’s Brandon Marino was named first star, Coccimiglio was second star and Evansville’s Bryan Gillis was third star.
Each game players are awarded five points for first-star recognition, three points for a second star and one point for third star. The player with the most points at the end of the year will be named the Oakley Three Star Player of the Year.
Coccimiglio finished the month with eight goals and 10 assists in 12 games and led the Mavs in all scoring categories. He was named a first star three times and second and third star once each for a total of 19 points.
