UMKC sophomore defender Michael Oakley, a former standout at Lee’s Summit North High School, has been named to the All-Summit League first team and Summit’s Academic All-League Men’s Soccer Team.
The Academic All-League team was voted on by the faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors from all eight Summit League schools. Oakley was the lone selection for the Kangaroos.
Oakley, a member of the Summit All-Newcomer squad a year ago, led the UMKC defense to a 5-2 league record and a conference-games goals against average of 1.23. He also scored a goal and logged two assists this season. He has a 3.80 grade point average in communications studies.
