A pair of former Eastern Jackson County prep volleyball stars claimed postseason honors for their respective colleges.

University of Missouri junior and Blue Springs High School graduate Lisa Henning was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region Team for the second consecutive season by landing on the All-South Region Team.

Truman grad and Spring Hill College junior Taryn Nash was named an honorable mention member of the 2012 Tachikara-NAIA All-America squad.

Henning is just the third Tiger to earn All-Region first team honors in back-to-back seasons. She did so after leading the Southeastern Conference with kills per set (4.64) and points per set (5.28).

Nash also picked up honorable mention All-America status for the second straight year after ranking 19th in the nation in assists with 1,360 and 20th in assists per set with 10.3. She was also named the 2012 Southern States Athletic Conference Setter of the Year following a season in which she tallied 275 digs, 101 kills, 35 aces and 29 blocks.
