The Fort Osage softball team closed out the regular season with a complete effort in an 18-0 Suburban Middle Seven Conference win over North Kansas City.

Katy Divers pitched a no-hitter while going 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs. She was one of a host of Fort players to do major damage at the plate as Mercedes Marriott and Kelsey McIntyre both finished 4-for-4. Marriott clubbed a double with three RBIs and scored twice while McIntyre whacked a double, drove in a run and plated four runs. Kenzi Mickey also went 2-for-3 with a triple and a pair of RBIs and runs.

The Indians finished the regular season 12-10 and 8-4 in the Suburban Middle Seven. They’ll open district play by taking on Liberty today.

GRAIN VALLEY 10, SEDALIA SMITH-COTTON 0: The Grain Valley softball team enjoyed a big Senior Night on Monday.
Nine seniors were honored as the Eagles routed Sedalia Smith-Cotton.

The victory was the season’s 20th, marking the fifth consecutive year the Eagles have won that many.

Brooklynne Simbeck and Lexie Worden combined for a five-inning one-hitter and struck out 12 of 16 batters they faced. Mikayla Akers had three hits and Jordan Orth homered to lead the Grain Valley attack.

The Eagles are the No. 1 seed in the Class 3 District 14 tournament at Oak Grove and will play the Oak Grove-Marshall winner on Thursday.
