Daniel Lewis, Darick Lapaglia, Cain Salas and Michael Pixley combined to go 48-0 and captured individual titles in Saturday’s Winnetonka Tournament to lead the Blue Springs wrestling team to a third-place finish.

The Wildcats totaled 364 points to finish behind Park Hill (431) and Imperial Seckman (392) in the 15-squad field.
Austin Reyes also posted a 10-2 mark to finish second in the 220-pound bracket.

Lewis, wrestling at 138, notched six technical falls, four pins and received two byes on his way to the championship. In the finals, he pinned St. Joseph Central’s Blake Dixon.

Lapaglia used eight pins, two decisions and a pair of byes to navigate his way through the 145-pound field. He grabbed first by edging Park Hill’s Russell Coleman 3-1.

Salas (152) registered 10 pins and a pair of decisions – including an 8-3 triumph over Park Hill South’s Adam Weatherly to clinch the title.

Pixley (182) recorded 10 pins and earned two major decisions. He downed Park Hill South’s Chase Gray 15-3 in the final round.

Jeremy King added a fifth-place finish at 120 for Blue Springs.
