The Blue Springs girls basketball team continues to roll in Suburban Six play.
The host Wildcats grabbed a 29-13 halftime lead on the way to a 56-43 victory over Liberty Thursday night.
Karyla Middlebrook fired in a season-high 25 points, the second best total of her high school career, and Liz Wendell added 15 as the Wildcats improved to 18-4 overall and 4-0 in the Big Six. Liberty suffered in first conference loss in four games and fell to 10-7 overall.
Blue Springs led by as much as 23 points in the second half.
“We did a good job coming out and being focused,” Blue Springs coach Mark Spigarelli said. “We had three key reserves out with injuries. We overcame some adversity with the people being injured.”
LEE’S SUMMIT NORTH 59, RAYMORE-PECULIAR 44: With three players scoring in double figures, the host North Broncos posted a Suburban Big Six victory Thursday night.
Junior Erica Nelson led the way with 18 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists as the Broncos improved to 11-6 and 2-2. Jayden Powell added 13 points and Imani Johnson had 11.
“We did a good job of distributing the basketball and a much better job passing,” North coach Tricia Lillygren said. “We also did a good job on the boards (a 37-19 advantage).
North slowly widened a 26-18 halftime advantage.
BUTLER 55, VAN HORN 37: For one quarter Van Horn gave host Butler a battle on Tuesday.
Then the Bears outscored the Falcons 19-11 in the second quarter for a 27-20 lead and went on to a Crossroads Conference loss.
Kelsey Edward scored 12 points and Elizabeth Leroy had 10 to lead guided the Falcons (4-13, 0-4).
