7:13 p.m. -- I’m back after some computer glitches. Gotta love modern technology.
The only news from our area is that Josh Howk lost to Drake Houdashelt of Fort Zumwalt West, 11-3. The loss clinched third place for the Wildcats and second place for Zumwalt.
Houdashelt came at Howk early and took it to him from the word go.
Meanwhile two more four-time state champions have been crowned. Mac Bailey (135) of Oak Park won his fourth straight title - the last coming in Class 3. Also, at 152 in Class 2, Kyle Meyer notched his fourth straight title.
That gives us 17 four-time state champions. Bailey’s older brother, Zach, was also a four-time champion.
There is always something special about seeing a wrestler win his fourth straight title.
In Class 3 Bradley Wisdom (125) won his third title. He won his freshman and sophomore years, but had to settle for third last year. He made sure he got the third title. But we were very close to crowning four this year.
