Day 3 wrestling update - 7:45 p.m.

7:45 p.m. -- Well, we’re pretty much through the 171 title matches, which means we’re getting close to the final area title match of the day - Jace Banner of Van Horn at 215.

I’m curious how things will work for Banner. He’s facing Ross Bain of Lawson, who he beat in the district title match in overtime last week.

However, Banner hasn’t wrestled in well more than 24 hours, as he did not have a semifinal match.

It will be interesting to see how that layoff affects him. Will he come in fresh? Or will he be rusty?

Meanwhile, since Bain was on mat three last night, his match came late. Did he get enough rest today?

There’s a lot to look for in this match. I know Bain will be looking for revenge, as he’s been the No. 1-ranked 215-pounder in the state most of the year.

It should be a good one. Hopefully, Banner saved his best for last.
