The host Blue Springs South girls soccer team dominated. But in the end, it was Ozark prevailing 1-0 after two scoreless 10-minute overtimes and a shootout Saturday.

The Jaguars (1-1), in a game delayed 30 minutes because of lightning, outshot Ozark 16-3 and led 5-1 in corner kicks.

But in the shootout, Ozark converted on four attempts and South only once.

“The bright spot was everything we did was working well,” Jaguars coach Todd Findley said. “But like last year our Achilles heel is the lack of finishing. We have a bunch of older and younger players. They are doing the right things. We just have to put the ball in the net.”
